WIDEN Brodie Lane ...The Green Solution:

The latest from the Commissioner's Court-
The Brodie Lane agenda item has been postponed from next Tuesday, July11th to Tuesday, July 25th due to the heavy agenda schedule of nextTuesday's Commissioners' Court session. In order to have sufficienttime for a comprehensive discussion to cover all methods to improvesafety and enhance mobility on Brodie Lane, which will include possible closure of Brodie Lane, it is necessary to postpone the item to July25th.

Let's face it.....vehicles stopped in traffic are getting ZERO miles per gallon.
Not green!

Since the three lawsuits generated by our pals at SOS are going to kill progress on the extension of the south end of Mopac to 1626 (aka SH45) for several more years the REALLY GREEN solution is to widen Brodie Lane to three lanes. A 'reversable' lane would be smart and economical. This would help our friends who live along Brodie Lane as well as those who use this vital thoroughfare for their commute from south Travis county into Austin. This will also take the pressure off of TXDOT to extend Mopac to 1626. We need some good ideas and momentum to pursue the idea of WIDENING Brodie Lane just like it is North of Slaughter Lane.

SPEAK UP!
Write the Travis County Commissioners with new and fresh ideas
on the subject of widening Brodie Lane:
